Debt Advisory

CreditSME provides debt advisory to businesses seeking to raise or refinance a loan facility of $5m and above. The scope of work typically includes working with the business to fully understand the business and funding requirement, preparing materials to present to the potential lenders (covering banks, non-bank lenders and private cerdit funds) and running a structured and competitive process with these lenders to achieve the best possible loan terms for a business or sponsor. 

CreditSME is also able to offer a broader range of services to get a business prepared and ready for lenders that may include assistance in preparing business marketing documents, financial forecasts, and other information that will be sought by or useful to potential lenders.  

Our debt advisory service is typically for businesses seeking loans of between $5m and $100m. We offer a very competitive fee structure that can be tailored to your objectives including success based pricing or a broker type pricing model where there are no direct fees paid by the business as our fees are included in the bank/lender establushment fees.

Typical debt advisory assignments

New loan facility

For new loan facilities, CreditSME will typically:

  • Determine the most appropriate debt structure for the business;
  • Outline expected loan terms before approaching lenders;
  • Run a competitive process with a group of the most suitable lenders;
  • Assist in the lender diligence process;
  • Negotiate final terms with the selected lender; and
  • Manage the process all the way through to completion.

Refinance

The process for a refinancing will generally follow the same process as a new loan.

This includes forming a view on the best pricing that is likely to be achievable and then running a competitive process with a group of selected lenders to achieve these targeted loan terms.

Other

Other assignments include:

  • Reviewing and negotiating convertible loan terms or other structured loan products;
  • Arranging debt capital with non-bank lenders including for complex or difficult situations;
  • Assisting with negotiations with an existing lender;
  • Prepare debt related analysis and/or presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
